But what I do not understand is the need to make her a Muslim. I have no problem with that A story must go on, and it requires whatever to make it go on. She has pre-marital sex with Rehan, resulting in her giving birth to a son. However, her actions are completely the opposite of what a devout muslim does. Kajol plays the lead character Zooni, who is a blind muslim lady. Well, I was a little offended by the characters, mainly because they are not a true portrayal of what the characters are supposed to be. That’s when we will go “OHH!” instead of “WTF?!”. The screenwriters, as well as the director, should have studied films like “The Sixth Sense” to successfully pull off the twist the audience needs to be constantly fed with little details that will accumulate to bring them enlightenment when the twist appears. And it’s only towards the end that we figure out that Bruce Willis is a ghost and all the questions that we had during the movie were answered at the end. The only character that he is very comfortable with is the boy, played by Haley Joel Osmant. From the beginning of the story, the audience is constantly curious by the awkward relationships between Bruce Willis’ character and the other characters.
I can’t help but refer to “The Sixth Sense”, a movie by M. What they could have done instead was to hint to the audience from the start that something was amiss. And if they actually deleted out the terrorist part, the love at the beginning can be expanded even more, expanding on its brilliancy. Well, it did stand out it stood out as a ridiculous plot that spoils the absolutely amazing introduction. It feels fake, immature and insincere it feels as if this twist is a huge necessity to make Fanaa stand out from other movies. But when seen on the big screen, this “shock” becomes a blatant twist that feels forced onto the audience. When written down here, it seems like a very good premise. Sure, the screenwriter perhaps wanted to shock the audience when Rehan (played by Aamir Khan) admits on-screen that he is a terrorist and that he has faked his death to get away from Zooni, the love of his life (played by Kajol) to complete his mission. However, the way it was structured, I fear, makes the story seems absolutely illogical, impossible and just plain ridiculous. I think the story as a whole is not that bad it is plausible and definitely has the capability of being a blockbuster movie.
The movie is separated into two: the part where they fall in love, and the part where he is revealed as a terrorist. Let’s begin with the things that I dislike about this movie, and then we’ll proceed on to the wonderful parts of this movie. I have a love/hate relationship with this movie.
